Carta de presentación

Dear Sir or Madam,

My name is Melanie Díaz, I am a Kindergarten teacher with thirteen months of experience in the field of education. I have got a Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education and another Bachelor's degree in Psychology, which greatly supplemented my knowledge about children and how to enhance their learning process. Both these aspects, in addition to my love for helping children grow as individuals, make me certain that I have the qualities and skills necessary to be an excellent addition to your school.

My professional experience includes leading my own mixed class of infants and toddlers in a daycare center in my city for four months, covering a maternity leave replacement. Previously, I worked in the same center for two months as a fellow teacher. I followed lesson plans according to the textbook of a publisher chosen by the director of the center and then taught these lessons on a daily basis while focusing on the needs and development of my students; combined with my caring and patient personality. Other tasks consisted of organizing activities and student supervision, preparing and serving meals/snacks, assisting with toileting, and changing clothes.

In addition, I worked as an instructor in a summer school with children between two and seven years old, in the summer of 2017 for another company. The company prepared his own programming classroom activities which guided the teacher to do quality work. Some of the activities I carried out during this month were: ethical debates about cartoons shorts, water games(some plays using water as a refreshing resource, as It was a hot summer) and psychomotor sessions (encouraging children to do active plays).

Once I finished my degree in psychology, I moved to England and I worked there for six months as an Early Childhood Educator in a Nursery school located in Clifton (Bristol). I was the key person for a group of bouncies. I carried on my own planning, assessing my pupils, and setting their next steps. I worked together with my room leader following daily routines and applying high standards of safeguarding to children. When my room leader was absent, I lead the whole room, and sometimes I also was sent to other rooms like babies or preschoolers, to give support to the rest of the staff.

Short-term, I want to find a job that allows me to improve as a professional. Especially, I would like to learn more about different alternative pedagogies. Also, I want to enrich my English language skills although currently, I have a B2 CEFR level, still, I want to be able to communicate more proficiently.

As you can see, I am eager to get more experience under my belt and believe that your nursery school is the place for me to grow my career. With my previous experience as well as my dedication to a career in education, I am well prepared to thrive in a teaching position at your school.
